MFU Advances Area-Based Academic Service Mission, Hosting Media Handbook Contest to Elevate Educational Strategy and Teacher Competencies Across 3 Sub-Districts Towards SDGs

Mae Fah Luang University (MFU), through The Center for Academic Services in collaboration with the School of Liberal Arts, successfully organized the the “Teacher Competency Development Project for Classroom Instruction Enhancement: Knowledge Sharing Platform, Instructional Media Handbook Presentations, Classroom Integration, and Handbook Competition” on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Room 518, Sampao Chusri Building (E4), Mae Fah Luang University. The event welcomed 30 participating teachers from schools across three target sub-districts—Tha Sud, Nang Lae, and Mae Khao Tom—who gathered to present their instructional work and exchange learning experiences.

The event featured an instructional media handbook competition alongside a knowledge-sharing platform focused on practical classroom application. Participants received valuable insights and expert recommendations to further refine and adapt their teaching materials for maximum student benefit. The judging panel comprised distinguished academic experts from MFU’s School of Liberal Arts, including Dr. Suchitra Saelim, Asst. Prof. Dr. Wisan Sukwisit, Asst. Prof. Suttha Rattanasak, Asst. Prof. Phanwadee Rattanasak, Dr. Teera Busabokkeaw, and Lecturer Chitladawan Srisoontornthai.

This initiative directly drives MFU’s core mission of academic service to society and supports its strategic plan for sustainable local development through an Area-Based Academic Service framework. Focusing on the three neighboring communities surrounding the university (Tha Sud, Nang Lae, and Mae Khao Tom), MFU leverages academic knowledge and educational innovations as key mechanisms to build teacher competencies. This empowers local educators to produce creative learning media and effective instructional handbooks that systematically address classroom challenges and elevate educational standards. Furthermore, the initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG 4 (Quality Education) by upgrading teacher professional skills and instructional quality, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by strengthening educational networks between higher education institutions and local community schools.
